2019 Medoc, dry, 13.5% vol., Chateau Le Bourdieu
The Chateau Le Bourdieu winery in the Medoc appellation is classified as a Cru Bourgeois. The vineyard soils consist of pebbly formations with sand and clay components and are planted with equal numbers of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The chateau is located near the Gironde estuary. The river`s unique microclimate ensures ideal growing conditions for the grapes, thus contributing to the wine`s quality. The wine is aged for 12 months in barriques, 80% of which are new. The style of the wine-partly due to the relatively high proportion of Merlot for a Medoc-is very soft, opulent, and seductively fruity, without sacrificing its characteristic Medoc structure.
