Soju Chamisul Fresh, Korean brandy, 16.5% vol., Jinro
What ouzo is to Greeks, and beer to Germans, soju is to Koreans. This mild spirit, however, tastes more like vodka. It`s ideal for cocktails with fruits, juices, and soda. The original soju has around 20% ABV, while Chamisul Fresh has only 16.9%, thanks to multiple filtrations through bamboo charcoal, resulting in a purer and fresher taste. It`s traditionally served chilled with meals, at parties, and gatherings. There are also flavored sojus available with fruit juices. Mixing soju with beer is becoming increasingly popular, using one or two shots per bottle of beer. This is called a somaek (soju + maekchu (beer)).
