The designation RD stands for `Recemment Degorge,` or recently disgorged. It matures for an extremely long time in the cellar, more than three times the legal ageing period for the appellation. This gives it ample time to develop its aromas and the valuable patina of its structure. Aromas of ripe fruit, primarily quince, but also a discreet honey aroma. In a second phase, roasted and even cocoa flavors emerge, along with a hint of star anise and nutmeg. Powerful and balanced, the palate is long-lasting.
