Hickory wood pellets give the typical aroma of bacon, as known from the USA. Like a good spice when cooking, smoke pellets provide spicy smoke aromas when grilling. They are either added to the embers or, in the case of gas and electric grills, moistened and wrapped in aluminum foil and placed on the grill grate.
