Baking wafers, rectangular, 600 x 400 mm
Rectangular baking wafers, also known colloquially as edible paper, are thin baking bases made from wheat flour and starch. They are baked between etched plates or molds and then cut into appropriate rectangular or round sheets. Wafers primarily serve as a base for honey cakes, gingerbread, macarons, or other confectionery. They eliminate the need to grease baking trays and prevent burning and soggy baking.
