DE-ÖKO-001 white poppy is an old and rarely cultivated poppy variety. With a slightly sweet, nutty taste - similar to walnuts - it is suitable for fine light poppy seed flour dishes, desserts or as a nut substitute. In Indian cuisine, poppy seeds are lightly roasted and sprinkled over potatoes. Its nutty taste is also appreciated there in curries that are thickened with white poppy seeds.
