2010 Piesporter Goldtropfchen Riesling Spatlese, sweet, 7.5% vol., Grans - Fassian

The Piesporter Goldtropfchen vineyard is a steep, south-facing slope with a 60% incline and deep, grey-blue weathered slate soil. The roots of the Riesling vines penetrate meters deep into the soil and the underlying bedrock, drawing water and valuable minerals that give the wines their richness and distinctive character. Wines from this vineyard are of particularly high quality in dry years and have excellent aging potential.
