In June, the sweet chestnut male flowers sprout in exuberant white, dominating even the lush green of their lancet-shaped leaves. The honey of the chestnut flowers is as mysterious as amber, reddish brown and with a scent reminiscent of flowering trees. Chestnut honey with its typical bitter note makes a strong taste on wholegrain bread, ripe cheese, fruit or even nuts.
