Pumpkin seed oil from Styria, 100% pure, Hartlieb
Approximately 35 pumpkins are needed to produce 1 liter of pumpkin seed oil. The seeds are finely chopped and processed into a soft, deep green, sticky, yet intensely fragrant pulp. Hot water and salt are added to the pulp. The water provides the necessary heat, while the salt seasons and separates the protein from the oil. The seed pulp is then roasted at 80-90°C, causing the water to evaporate and the protein to solidify. The dark green oil can then be pressed from the pulp, with the heavy sediment settling naturally. This intensely nutty pumpkin seed oil pairs perfectly with soups, beans, egg dishes, pumpkin seed pesto, salads, and desserts such as high-quality vanilla ice cream.
