Jackfruit are native to India and are now common in all tropical countries, especially in Southeast Asia. A single fruit can be up to 1 m long, 50 cm wide and weigh 90 kg. The interior contains numerous yellow, sweet, juicy, very pleasant tropical-fragrant and tasting single fruits, each containing a large brown seed. Jackfruit are among the tastiest fruits ever. In many Asian countries, they are staple foods because of their high starch content and protein, calcium and phosphorus content. These Jackfruits are in syrup and their pulp contains edible seeds. They are poured into fruit salads and used for ice cream.
