Knives from traditional craftsmanship and state-of-the-art technologies

The knife is considered one of the oldest tools in human history. To this day, it has hardly changed in its basic form and, as an indispensable tool, is one of the few objects used worldwide in all human cultures. Like no other object of everyday use, the knife has enormous radiance and symbolizes stability, strength and grandeur. Nesmuk develops and manufactures knives with the highest possible precision, relying on steel grades, precious materials and technologies that have never before been used in the cutlery industry. In its basic form, the Nesmuk knife corresponds to a 3,500 year old knife type. Inspired by the aesthetics and understanding of the form of this great knife, Nesmuk has reinterpreted and perfected it. Nesmuk knives are manufactured under the demand that they can not outbid in their sharpness and allow the finest possible cut in every application. Characteristic is the unique combination of traditional craftsmanship with state-of-the-art technologies: some designs, materials and coatings were specially developed by and for Nesmuk. The elaborate craftsmanship of high-quality materials is not an end in itself, but is the necessary consequence of the uncompromising claim to quality, attention to detail and functionality. This is how Nesmuk knives emerge as flawless tools that have nothing to do with traditional kitchen knives. In addition to the classic collections, the manufactory repeatedly creates unique creations that demonstrate what is possible when the best damask and goldsmiths work hand in hand with passion and precision. On customer request and for exhibitions unique pieces and limited editions are created.
Nesmuk knives are a commitment to innovation and perfection; They have been honored with international awards for their unique design and are the preferred kitchen tool of top chefs worldwide.

    Handling and use

Nesmuk knives are designed with their blade geometry and extreme sharpness for the so-called pressure cut; The usual sawing movements are not required. We recommend noiseless cutting, for hitting, chopping and bumping the thin blades are not suitable. This also protects the cutting edge and increases the service life of the knife. Contact of the cutting edge with bones and frozen food should be avoided.
Hard materials such as glass, granite or marble are very unsuitable and make a knife dull quickly. Ideal are cutting pads made of wood, especially from the front wood southern German oak: This protects the finely ground blades, as you always cut from above into a fiber bundle, instead of cutting wood fibers. Thanks to the high content of natural tannic acid, oak wood is naturally antibacterial and meets high hygienic requirements.
