  • Weingut Karl May

    Region Rheinhessen

Our estate is located in Osthofen in southern Rheinhessen - right in Wonnegau.

Since 2007, we manage our vineyards to ecological guidelines, which means the absence of herbicides and synthetic chemical means. The most important thing for us is, working together with the climate, our soils and vines, as they are our assets for the future and it is responsible to deal with them.

There is nothing more exciting for us to bring as with our wines a piece of nature in the bottle. We manage a vineyard of 20 hectares, which corresponds to the size of 25 football fields. 100,000 vines are maintained by us. Many helping hands are in use in order to pool the proceeds of the Sun and Earth in our wines.

In the basement there is remain calm and interfere as little as possible in the natural process of fermentation. With patience we let the wine to the develop what they want to be. This results in the system and its varietal wines with great aging potential.
