The sloe, also called Schwarzdorn, is the stone of a thorny shrub, which occurs mainly in Central Europe. The greenish pulp tastes sour and tart; only through stronger frost it becomes soft and has a sweetish aroma. The puree is frozen; it is possible to remove individual portions which are required. It is best to use for desserts.
